Paul Levinson

Skilled Staff
A young management team - moulded with the experience of an established but skilled staff under the leadership of an enthusiastic Managing Director, Paul Levinson, has enabled Ioma to re-invent itself. Now over 50 years old, the company was originally a manufacturing tailors, but has evolved into a modern service provider of corporate clothing, uniforms and PPE to over 1500 organisations and companies throughout the country.
Since moving to Speke in 1997, the management has connected with Speke Garston Partnership and the South Liverpool Business Leaders Group. Paul Levinson says: "Both organisations are so useful to the community, as well as to business in south Liverpool. No-one can deny that this has become an increasingly enterprising area over the past few years, and the environmental improvements are obvious."
Ioma's nationwide customer base includes shipping companies, the public sector (NHS Trusts, local authorities - including Liverpool and Knowsley) and major plcs. Supplying all staff members with their diverse and complex clothing requirements means that the use of modern techniques in IT is essential. The manufacture of specific fabrics, and the addition of logos and embellishments to the finished items by embroidery, screen-printing or heat-sealing has meant research is continuous to keep abreast of modern methods. Alongside this, the traditional skills of the manufacturing staff are tested by producing theatrical and film costumes for major theatrical costumiers and designers.
Ioma are proud of their achievements in improving the efficiency of a company linked to traditional skills. They are continuing to promote the image of Liverpool through their enthusiastic staff and by continuing to provide a quality product. They are very proud of their most recent achievement - runner up for the Best Small Enterprise Champions Competition 2002.
