Business advisor Paul Chapman (right) - part of the new set-up
SLBL is delighted that our efforts to safeguard Business Support in our area have paid off. Mike Taylor, chief executive of Liverpool Business Centre, told a Breakfast Briefing organised by SLBL on September 30th that two key advisors from the old Speke Garston Unit would be retained as part of a new system for delivering business support.
The future of the entire unit had been in doubt since March when its funding ceased. Now, Mike Poole and Paul Chapman will work with GME's Relationship Manager Nigel Toone to ensure that businesses continue to receive the best possible advice and support.

Mike Taylor told the Briefing: "We have appointed advisors with practical business experience, proven business skills ands professional accreditations. It will be a non-bureaucratic system of delivery with low overheads, focussed on clients' needs."
SLBL is pleased that business support will still be in the hands of locally-based advisors who are known to and respected by the business community.
