The EAZ vision is to provide an opportunity for the people of Speke Garston to achieve a 21st Century education and lifetime learning environment, by drawing on the abilities and commitment of pupils, parents, teachers and business, to raise educational attainment and the quality of learning in the classroom.

Underpinning this vision are the following themes, agreed by the Headteachers and Partnership Board, which aim to integrate the improvement of teaching and learning in the classroom, with life long learning, social inclusion and regeneration activities.

01

Develop teaching and learning to embed EAZ good practice

  • To establish consultant support for the teaching of literacy, numeracy and ICT
  • To establish effective classroom support for teachers
  • To support schools in analysing pupil performance data
02

Develop aspirational pupils through social inclusion

  • To create an inclusive education environment
  • To establish a family centred approach to early intervention and preventative action
  • To undertake projects in school that directly reduce non attendance and social exclusion
  • To develop a strategy for neighbourhood inclusion
03

Develop an enriched educational culture by the establishment of creative sustainable partnerships

  • To tackle disaffection and inappropriate behaviour in the classroom
  • To develop the role of school business links
  • To develop arts and cultural activities
  • To provide a platform for two way communication between pupils, parents, community and the EAZ executive.

The over-arching purpose of the Speke Garston EAZ is to create an inclusive education environment which will raise attainment and achievement levels of pupils through the implementation of proven quality teaching and learning strategies.
