Junior Jingles was designed as a persuasive writing project, linking literacy with ICT to give pupils an insight into the processes involved in producing an advertising jingle. There was excellent scope to use local businesses to research the various information needed for the production.
The project was completed over two months and involved pupils visiting a local hotel, a leisure centre and a local radio station. The finished jingles were judged by staff from Marriott Hotels and David Lloyd Leisure with the winner to be featured on MGL's website and ultimately on local radio.
