The Network 6 project was developed to facilitate and embed a proposal by students from St Benedict's College: to create a network for sixth form students run by sixth form students.
The main objective of the project was to bridge the gap between sixth form life and further/higher education, training and employment.
- To extend the provision of inspirational learning opportunities
- To promote the collaboration of sixth form students across the City Learning Centre (CLC) and Education Action Zone (EAZ) partner schools
- To provide opportunities for students to develop improved employability skills
- To support the transition process to further/higher education
- To develop an interactive website to act as a communication tool
- To establish a Network 6 students' project team and determine the roles and responsibilities within it
- To develop students' project-management and teamwork skills
- To increase sixth form students' aspirations, achievements and motivation
- To create opportunities for students across partner schools to meet for social interaction
