The school year of 2004-05 was certainly a momentous one for Holy Trinity School. After several trying years the school's major redevelopment was completed in November 2004. This new development meant much needed modern facilities were finally added to the main school.

The creation of a large hall, funded by the Governments 'Space for Sports & Arts' initiative, was the driving force behind the whole redevelopment. The school quickly made good use of this facility by coming together with Springwood Heath C.P. School to deliver an arts project that was greatly appreciated by parents and staff of both schools.

The new development meant that a whole new office and reception area was built - finally bringing Holy Trinity into the 21st century. A keynote feature of this new area is the added security for staff and children alike.

The old school building was also modernised by the creation of a foundation unit for children from 3 - 5 years old. A modern computer suite was built and how encouraging to see all the children make excellent use of this facility. Parent ICT courses have also taken place in the suite, and a new library completed the school's multimedia area.

So as we end 2005, the school could not be better set out to continue to offer our children the very best of facilities to match the excellent teaching they receive - a fact brought home this year by the school's excellent Key Stage II SAT results, which were the best ever achieved by children of Holy Trinity. Indeed, the results put the school into the country's top 5% in terms of "Value Added".

Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School

For the last 2 years pupils have joined the 'Liverpool Primary Ski Cruise' on visits to 'Les Deux Alpes' in France and 'Andalo' in Italy. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and benefited tremendously from the cultural experience, as well as mixing with children from six other school in the city.

They all received a bronze or silver medal and certificates for their efforts on the slopes and as always, acted as tremendous ambasadors for the school. The March 2006 visit is to Italy. Nine children from Year 5 and 6 will be taking part and have been taking advantage of the monthly payment scheme.

Holy Trinity has a modern suite of 16 pcs which include broadband internet access and are available to all pupils. Each classroom also has at least one computer. A rolling programme of installation of interacive whiteboards in every classroom is well under way. Years 1, 5 and 6 currently enjoy this facility.

Holy Trinity School was asked to host a Pupil Support Unit by the Local Education Authority. The centre provides support for pupils from Holy Trinity as well as neighbouring schools.

The scheme, as part of the Excellence in Cities project, will mean up to 12 children working at a time in a different environment in the hope that motivation can be improved or issues solved. Such a comfortable working environment designed to bring out the best in children with motivational problems.
