Welcome to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Resourced Primary School. St Francis' school is hidden away in the residential heart of Garston. Opened in 1884, the oldest part of the building has now seen the dawn of two centuries. Its newer counterpart, the Infant building, built in 1975 stands across the yard from the Victorian building and provides bright and spacious accommodation for the younger pupils. The school is linked by a passageway to the Parish Church of St Francis of Assisi a joining, which reflects the school's strong philosophy of parish and community involvement. It could therefore be said that St Francis' School is as much part of the soul of Garston as it is the heart. We are proud of our links with the Parish and the wider community, which we consider are important to the development of our children. We feel these links - school, parents, parish - are an all important aspect of our place within the community. At St Francis' school we aim for every child to reach their full potential. Our standards are high and we aim for excellence in all we do. As a Resourced School we include a number of pupils with complex learning difficulties. This inclusion benefits all our pupils both in the standards achieved in their learning and socially, a fact that has been noted in both LEA thematic inspections and by OFSTED. Log on to our website (www.stfrancisofassisi.co.uk) and view our prospectus. We hope it will give you a glimpse of the exciting, purposeful and supportive ethos within our school community.
